20+ Items you need to have on hand.

Imagine: you’re about to walk down the aisle and get a whiff of an odor, or your strapless dress has a gap in the top, or you realize the shoes you are about to wear all night are about as comfortable as wooden clogs.

Things happen on your wedding day that you might not have planned for. But don’t worry, everything can be fixed with our checklist of items that you need in your wedding emergency kit (or, make it even easier on yourself by choosing Cornman Farms to host your wedding…we have all of these things on hand!).

Your Complete Wedding Day Emergency Checklist:

1. Safety pins

A safety pin can save the day for nearly any fashion emergency (seriously, you should always keep a couple in your purse). They can fix a broken bra strap or damaged clothing and can even be a makeshift button if you don’t have extras on hand. Be sure to have a few different sizes to handle any fashion emergencies.

2. Deodorant

Whether you’re getting married in the middle of a Michigan summer or are just a little nervous for the big day, you need to have some deodorant available. If you need a more hygienic option for the entire bridal party to use, opt for a spray version instead of the stick.

3. Hairspray

Hairspray is a 2 in 1 weapon. It can keep your hair in place and tame any flyaways that could affect your photos, but it’s also an amazing static guard. Get rid of clingy fabric with a few spritzes of hairspray.

4. Bobby pins

Whether it’s a little windier than you anticipated or your just letting loose on the dance floor, flyaways are bound to happen. Easily secure them with a bobby pin. Hot tip: be sure to get some that are close to the color of your hair.

5. Sunscreen

The last thing you want is to burn on your wedding day. You don’t want to look back on photos and notice that your shoulder is bright red. Plus, it’s good to protect your skin.

6. Shoe inserts or backup shoes

Never underestimate the power of comfortable shoes. A pair of comfort insoles like Dr. Scholls can turn the night around. No one likes dancing on sore feet! If you’re wearing heals, pack a pair of flats or fancy flip flops for the reception, just in case.

7. Fashion tape

No wardrobe slip ups around here. Double-sided fashion tape can secure anything so you feel comfortable on your big day. Whether the bust on your dress isn’t secure, your bra strap is showing, or the hem on your pants is an inch too long, fashion tape can save the day.

8. Scissors

Quickly clip away any tags or loose strings with a pair of scissors. Or if someone needs some split ends trimmed, you’ll be good to go.

9. Stain remover

There’s no better way to ruin a photo than having a coffee stain on your tux or dress. Stain remover pens are a great way to quickly clean up any mishaps.

10. Lint roller

If you or someone in the wedding party has a pet, odds are the pet’s hair will travel with them. Quickly clean up black pants and jackets before you walk down the asile with a couple of swipes.

11. Makeup touch-up essentials

Your wedding is a full day event, so you’ll probably have to touch up your makeup if you’re wearing any. We suggest having a powder puff (with powder), mascara, blush, lipstick, and lip balm handy.

12. Mints

If you had an onion bagel for breakfast, it might not be a bad idea to pop a couple mints before you kiss your significant other.

13. Antiacid Tablets

For those with a sensitive stomach, it’s a good idea to have antiacids on hand. Endless toasts and lots of sweets can cause an upset stomach and the last thing you want is to have a stomach ache on your big day.

14. Band-Aid

Accidents happen, it’s best to be prepared. And if your shoes are rubbing uncomfortably on your heels, a bandaid can help with the irritation.

15. Tissues

Tissues are an absolute necessity on your wedding day. Whether your crying tears of joy or suffering through allergy season, tissues are a must. You don’t want to be sniffling all day!

16. Menstration products

You don’t want to be caught unprepared for this. Pack some extra pads and tampons for anyone who needs it.

17. Q-Tips

The uses for q-tips are endless. Clean your jewlery, touch up your makeup, and erase leather scuffs with the help of this magic tool.

18. Advil

It’s always a good idea to have an anti-inflammatory around for unwanted headaches or if you have a drink or two too many.

19. Allergy medication

Tissues are great, but they don’t suppress allergy symptoms. Especially if your wedding is outdoors, it’s best to have allergy medication on hand to eliminate sniffles and watery eyes.

20. Compact mirror

Touch-up on the go without having to find the bathroom.

21. Eye drops

Dry eyes are a sure way to ruin any experience. Keep your eyes comfortable and looking fresh for all of the many photo ops!

22. Phone chargers

While your photographer will capture all of the amazing moments, you want to make sure your phone is charged and ready just in case of an emergency.
