Love Songs: Summer

Every season at Cornman Farms has its own rhythm.

The light changes.
The air shifts.
The energy of a gathering feels different.

And love — somehow — feels different too.

We asked members of our farm team and some of our favorite creative partners to share the love songs they associate with this season — the tracks they return to year after year. Some are nostalgic. Some are hopeful. Some are soulful and steady. All of them capture something about what it feels like to love during this time of year.

When the sun lingers and the air feels electric, love feels bold and alive — celebratory, joyful, impossible to ignore. This summer playlist is perfect for long evenings, golden-hour dancing, and gatherings that stretch past sunset.

Filled with a spirit of adventure and social gatherings where sparks can fly, summer is inherently romantic. It’s also peak wedding season at Cornman Farms and beyond. Here are some of our favorite love songs to savor in the summertime whether we’re huddled by a campfire or hosting a reception in our beautiful gardens.

“If I Got It (Your Love Brought It)”

Aaron Frazier

Recommended by Adore Wedding Photography’s Loren and Mary Beth Noyes, this incredibly fun song by Aaron Frazier is a master class in thanking the people you love. When he croons “The music in my soul / The butter on my roll /  If I got it, ooh, baby, your love brought it,” it’s hard not to smile. Plus, the music video that goes with proves that roller skating can be a surprisingly sexy summer pastime.

“Adore You”

Harry Styles

Every second of this track radiates summer-love vibes, whether Harry Styles is singing about the season’s romantic skies or the strawberry lipstick that the object of his affection wears.

“I’m in Love”

Jelani Aryeh

Jelani Aryeh melds post-punk and R&B in fascinating ways, especially on this track from his 2024 album, The Sweater Club. The combination of hushed vocals, a powerful pulse, and palpable yearning is utterly swoonworthy.

“Cloud 9”

Beach Bunny

Human lovebirds are like characters in a fantasy novel in this indie-rock track from Beach Bunny’s 2020 album, Honeymoon. Our favorite lines: “When I start to tumble from the sky / You remind me how to fly.”

“My Love for You Will Not Fade”

Caitlin Canty

Zingerman’s co-founder Ari Weinzweig loves the way Caitlin Canty “draws on folk, country, and a bit of blues to create a unique sound that’s true to who she is.” This track from her 2015 album, Reckless Skyline, will burn itself into your memory with its powerful minor-key vocals and gorgeous gut punches such as “Black river hotter than the July sun / Wild fire on a bloodshot day / When our ashes have burned to dust / My love for you will not fade.”

“Luna”

Smashing Pumpkins

Kieron Hales, Cornman Farms’ chef and co-managing partner, calls this track from Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 album, Siamese Dream, “a hidden gem, soft and dreamy. Plus, he admires the heart-on-the-sleeve nature of singer Billy Corgan’s words: “With lyrics like ‘I’’m in love with you, so in love,’ it’s probably the most tender thing he has ever written.”

“Love Story (Taylor’s Version)”

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift removes the tragic from Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and replaces it with fairy-tale magic—complete with a marriage proposal.

“Baby I’m Yours”

Arctic Monkeys

This cover of Barbara Lewis’ 1965 hit is the sonic equivalent of cotton candy: sugary sweet, practically weightless, and summery as can be. It’s perfect for daydreaming in a hammock or curling up on a porch swing with the person you call baby.

Every wedding has a soundtrack.

Sometimes it’s the song that plays as you walk down the aisle.

Sometimes it’s the one you sway to at the end of the night when the candles are low and the room has softened.

And sometimes, it’s simply the music that carried you through a season of loving each other well.

At Cornman Farms, we believe the most meaningful weddings feel connected to the season they’re held in, not just in color palette and flowers, but in atmosphere and emotion.

If you’re dreaming of a summer wedding that feels intentional, beautiful, and deeply personal, we’d love to show you what that can look like here.  Learn more!
