Our Favorite Trees for Admiring, Relaxing beneath, and More

Our Favorite Cornman Farms trees and spots for Admiring, Relaxing beneath, and More

Every tree has a story. Some have stood tall for generations, watching over weddings, celebrations, and quiet moments of reflection. Others offer the perfect shady spot to steal a peaceful moment, share a first look, or capture a stunning photo. From the majestic maples that frame golden autumn ceremonies to the willow trees that sway gently in the breeze, the trees at our 27-acre farm wedding venue add a touch of magic to every season.

Whether you’re planning an outdoor wedding in Michigan, searching for the perfect backdrop for wedding portraits, or just love the beauty of towering trees, you’ll find the spot for you at Cornman Farms. Here are a few trees and gardens you should visit when you check out all that we have to offer.

The willow garden is so special in the spring and summer, when it’s all filled out. It creates a quiet little cove where you can be alone with your thoughts and the sounds of leaves in the wind.
—Brigitte, Cornman Farms office administrator and event producer

I really like the garden hidden behind the full-grown hedge.
—Erin Sarah, Cornman Farms bartender and server

I love the big tree to the east of the farmhouse. The grass there is often long and romantic.
—Mishelle, owner of Mishelle Lamarand Photography

There is nothing better than walking back towards my dahlia garden when the pumpkins in the back field are coming in, and hearing the wind rustle the giant leaves. It’s quiet, peaceful, and incredibly beautiful.
—Chelsea, owner and creative director of Wildscape Floral Co.

For me, settling into the herb garden and weeding the raised beds is the most relaxing way to connect with nature. It feels like heaven. There’s something deeply grounding about working with the herbs — running my hands through the rosemary, thyme, and basil, breathing in their scents as I tend to them.  Herbs are the final touch to nearly every dish we serve at the farm, and growing them ourselves feels like a sacred process.  It’s a quiet, meditative space where I can slow down, appreciate the details, and feel truly at peace.
Kieron, executive chef and managing partner of Cornman Farms

I love the tall, green natural pergola. During cocktail hour when guests are outside, I think it’s so lovely to be able to wander over and feel enveloped by plants and nature, like a private little cozy nook.
—Tracy,  owner of Red Poppy Floral Design

During the warmer months, the trees that shade the farmhouse pasture are so lush and provide shelter to relax and picnic under!
—Mary Beth, co-owner of Adore Wedding Photography

An especially nice place to relax is either in the garden surrounded by all of the beautiful blooms or just off to the left of the garden near the little fence. It’s just far enough away to feel like you can have some peace away from the fun but you could still hear the laughter of your family and friends.
